Question of Character slide
Overview of week 2:
Have you ever felt compelled to stand up for someone but the risk involved kept you in your seat? Maybe you knew someone was being excluded from a group of friends, but by speaking up against that group you would be outcast too. Or maybe you didn’t think your opinion was valid or carried any weight. This week we are looking at the character of Esther and her incredible courage to stand up for what she knew was right. Esther risked her life for the sake of the Jewish people by stepping into the court of King Xerxes unannounced and disagreeing with everything he was about to do. Through the trial Esther faced, we will learned about the risks and benefits of trusting in God and how to overcome our fears for the sake of someone else.
“He sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” –  Ester 4:13-14
